Remarks

From Matthies's book: "The Elizur Eno House, on the continuation of a street called Westover Plain, was built in 1750. It was sheltered by a mammoth elm of great age and beauty. French officers were quartered in this house at one time. They had a quarrel and one threw his carving knife, making a gash in the wall which is still visible."
