Remarks

From Matthies: "This tree is a white oak which stands on the lawn in front of the house built by Isacc Bennett in 1730. When the tree had grown to some size the center was cut out for a bush harrow which accounts for the wide spread of the branches, and every other year it has bushels of acorns. The Homestead which has been in the Bennett and Seeley families for four generations was willed in 1925 by the great-great-granddaughter of Isaac Bennett to Mrs. J. Arthur Sherwood. Age of tree about three hundred years. Circumference sixteen and one half feet. Spread one hundred and twenty five feet."

Notes

This is a tree noted in Matthies' book.
